About me
Hola! My name is Juan Felipe and I was born 1983 in Bogota/Colombia. I have taken photographs for everything – from products shoots to weddings and portraits, for commercial, locations and personal use. Also I am specialized in video projects.
After my university degree in visual arts, I worked the last ten years most time as a freelance photographer for photo and video projects.
I approach into the photojournalism world working for the president in Bogota in 2006 capturing important moments for Colombian history like the liberation of Ingrid Betancourt (former candidate for presidency and kidnapping by the FARC).
After a stint in the journalist world in Colombia I’ve moved to Punta Cana (Dominican Republic) to do Wedding photography in five stars resorts, given me a reason to shoot real emotions and happy moments. Also I traveled to other countries like Brazil and the US to realize photo projects.
In 2010 I decided to move to Paris/France and search my life over there. In Paris, we have created as co-founder the PIX-WORK PRODUCTION (www.pix-work.com), a creative company focused on lifestyle, weddings, newborn and product shootings. Also, I collaborated with agencies (e.x. www.librecommelart.com) and worked for own clients in different business areas.
I know how to handle very well the Adobe programs like Photoshop and Illustrator and also I use Lightroom.
Working as a freelancer has enabled me to develop not only my photography skills using different techniques, it has also developed my ability to quickly absorb a brief, adapt to work efficiently and deliver high-quality photographs within short time frames. Besides working as a photograph, I realized projects in Art Direction & Conception. For example, I worked for a Bio Food Company called “Positive” in France (www.positivejuicebar.com) and support them with conception & marketing.
I am a highly enthusiastic and motivated photographer with a passion for fashion and a good eye for detail. Natural light it’s very important so I can create relaxed environments and be paying close attention to the smallest details.
